RAMALLAH, December 21, 2015 – Israeli army forces Monday
detained at least 29 Palestinians, most of them during predawn and night raids
across the West Bank districts, including Jerusalem, according to security
sources.
In Hebron district, Israeli forces detained two women at a
military checkpoint erected at the northern entrance of the town of Yatta.
Witnesses said that the soldiers were seen handcuffing both girls, and placing
a knife beside them, before they led them to an unknown destination. One of the
girls was identified as Madleen Hraizat, 22.
Also in Hebron, the army broke into the town of Beit Awwa
and detained three Palestinians after searching their homes. They were
identified as Karam Masalmeh, 17, Akram R. Masalmeh, 17, and Sa’ed I. Masalmeh.
Forces also broke into the nearby town of Halhoul, where
they detained Samer J. Zama’rah, 21, Baha’a E. Zama’reh, and Abdel-Halim
Zama’reh.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers stationed at Zayem checkpoint,
east of Jerusalem, detained four Palestinians as they attempted to cross
through. The four, all from al-Arroub refugee camp near Hebron, were identified
as Mousa Titi, Sharif Sharif, 16, Khaled Rushdi, 20, and Haitham Abu-Ghazi, 22.
In the meantime, Israeli troops stormed Dehesheh refugee
camp near Bethlehem and detained a local Palestinian after raiding and
searching his house. He was identified as Saleh Jua’idi, 23.
The Israeli incursion into the camp provoked clashes with
local youth, during which about 25 locals suffocated due to inhaling tear gas
used against them by Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Israeli army stormed the village of Silwad,
northeast of Ramallah, and detained 30-year-old Ghaleb Warda after raiding his
house. Warda was shot and injured in the leg by Israeli troops about a month
ago, and is still suffering the effects of the past-injury.
Army also broke into Deir Nizam, a nearby village, where
they detained Ra’ed Tamimi, 26, from inside a local school, where he works.
Forces reportedly fired tear gas canisters inside the school, causing several
students to suffocate.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained four Palestinians,
including three minors. They were identified as Mousa Khader, 15, Ahmad Ewesat,
16, Ali Ewesat, 16, and Yasin Qanbar, 19.
Israeli police also detained three
Palestinians in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. They were identified
as Islam Najjar, Hamza Najjar, and Nader Nasser.
Police also detained an unidentified 15-year-old girl inside
the old city of Jerusalem, purportedly for possessing a knife in her handbag.
Army further stormed the town of Bir Nabala, north of
Jerusalem, and detained two brothers
identified as Mohammad and Qassam Sha’abneh.
In Tulkarm district, in northern West Bank, Israeli troops
detained three Palestinians identified as Abdel-Rahim Abu-Shanab, 28, Hadi
Sadr, 24, and Ehab Jayyusi, who was detained while he was present inside the
1948 occupied land, Israel.
Army also broke into the village of Jit, east of Qalqilia,
and detained 22-year-old Durgham Yamin.
