BRUSSELS, September 10, 2025, WAFA - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she would propose a partial suspension of the Association Agreement with Israel over trade-related issues.
In her annual address to the European Parliament on Wednesday, the European Commission President added that she would also propose imposing sanctions on extremist ministers in Israel.
"What is happening in Gaza has shaken the conscience of the world," she said in a post on X. "Man-made famine can never be a weapon of war. This must stop. EU aid to Gaza far outweighs that of any other partner. But of course, Europe needs to do more."
In her address to the European Parliament, she indicated that the Commission will establish a donor group for the Palestinians next month and a dedicated tool for the reconstruction of Gaza.
