STRASBOURG, September 10, 2025 (WAFA) – Dozens of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) wore red shirts today, Wednesday, to express solidarity with the Gaza Strip and to condemn Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
This came during a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, shortly before European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen delivered her speech.
MEPs from the Socialist and Democrats group, the Greens, and the Left took part in the protest, holding red ribbons to symbolize Israel’s crossing of all red lines in Gaza.
Some also wore badges shaped like watermelons, featuring the colors of the Palestinian flag, to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to condemn the silence over the occupation’s aggression and ongoing genocidal war.
