JENIN, December 19, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight
detained three Palestinians and summoned four others during predawn raids into a
number of West Bank districts, said security sources and a local activist.
Israeli forces detained a Palestinian lawyer identified as
Ra’oof Zghaibi, 22, from the the northern West Bank city of Jenin, after
raiding his family’s home.
Earlier Saturday, forces raided the city and detained another
Palestinian identified as Muhammad Nazzal, 22. Forces further confiscated
Nazzal’s laptop after breaking into and ransacking his family’s house in Marah
neighborhood.
During the raid, forces stormed and searched several other
houses in the area, interrogating their occupants after forcing them to stay
outside in the cold winter weather.
Three homeowners were identified as Muhammad Nazzal, ‘Omar
al-Sakran, and his brother, Mahmoud.
In Ramallah, forces detained a female university student
identified as Asma’ Qadh at Za’atara Israeli military checkpoint. According to
a recent press statement issued by the University of BirZeit (BZU), the number
of students who were detained since the beginning of unrest that wracked the
Palestinian Territory and Israel in early October, have reached 95, including
two teachers and an employee.
Meanwhile, forces summoned two Palestinians during a predawn
raid into a Bethlehem town.
Forces raided Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem, and
handed Mujahed Thawabta, 24, and his cousin, Isma‘il, 28, notices ordering them
to turn themselves over to the Israeli intelligence.
In the meantime in Hebron district, forces summoned other
Palestinians and ransacked several houses.
WAFA reported on anti-wall and settlement activist Muhammad
‘Awad as saying that forces raided Beit Ummar, a town north of the city, where
they stormed several houses and summoned two Palestinians.
Youssef Ikhlail, 35, a former detainee, and his relative,
Muhammad, 20, were handed similar notices.
During the raid, troops fired stun grenades toward
Palestinian houses before retreating to the nearby Israeli settlement of Karmei
Zur.
Furthermore, troops broke into and ransacked a number of
Palestinian houses in Hebron city.
