RAMALLAH, July 6, 2015 (WAFA) – The
investigation carried out by the Israeli newspaper of Haaretz revealing that
hundreds of acres of lands seized from Palestinians to establish ‘security
zones’ around West Bank illegal settlements are in fact being utilized for
other purposes other than security hit the front page headlines in the three
Palestinian Arabic dailies.
Covering this theme in its main
front page news article, al-Quds reported that lands that have been
expropriated from Palestinians under security pretexts are being exploited by
Israeli settlers for private usage such as farming and entertainment.
Al-Ayyam reported that Haaretz’s
report reveals that the lands seized for ‘security zones’ are in fact being
used for expanding settlements as well.
On the other hand, al-Hayat
al-Jadida reported that some Israeli media outlets have abetted murdering
Palestinian stone-throwers.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that
the current situation in the Gaza Strip is worse than it was a year before when
Israel launched its latest onslaught.
Al-Quds also reported that the Israeli
Knesset has discussed a draft law that would prevent any person who
participates in any ‘activity’ against Israel from running for the Knesset
elections, targeting with that Arab members.
Al-Ayyam quoted senior Hamas
official Isma‘il Haniyeh as saying: “The Hamas-Egypt relation has improved.”
It also quoted him as saying: “We
have been informed by international actors that Israel won’t launch any new war
on Gaza.”
Al-Ayyam also reported that the
Palestinian Telecommunications Company (Paltel) and Jawwal have reopened their
offices and branches across Gaza.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that
Israel’s top detective, Assistant Commissioner Ephraim Barcha, has committed
suicide.
Al-Ayyam said that 322 Israeli
soldiers have become disabled as a result of the latest Israeli onslaught on
Gaza.
Covering international events,
al-Ayyam reported that in defiance of Europe, the overwhelming majority of
Greeks has voted ‘No’ on the bailout deal.
