BETHLEHEM, July 2, 2015
(WAFA) – Israeli forces shot and injured several Palestinians, detained three
and summoned another during detention raids that targeted several West Bank
districts, said witnesses and an activist.
Israeli forces stormed
Thursday morning Duheisha refugee camp to the south of Bethlehem, where they
detained two Palestinians, sparking clashes with unarmed civilians. The
detainees were identified as Waleed al-Ja‘fari, 23, and Raghad Shamroukh, 19.
During clashes, forces
indiscriminately opened fire on Palestinian youth, injuring several with live
bullets.
According to local
media, the three injured, were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
One of the detainees, Shamoroukh, was shot and injured in his foot before being
detained.
Meanwhile in Hebron
district, forces stormed Beit Ummar town to the north of the city, where they
broke into and ransacked several homes and summoned two minors.
Both Sultan, 10, and
Muhammad ‘Adi, 18, were handed notices summoning them to appear before Israeli
intelligence in the interrogation and detention center of ‘Gush Etzion’,
according to Muhammad ‘Awad, an anti-wall and settlement activist.
In the meantime in
Qalqiliya district, Israeli army units stationed on a checkpoint near Jit, a
village to the northeast of the city, detained a Palestinian Wednesday evening.
Israeli soldiers
stopped Hikmat Ishtaiwi, 41, who was driving his vehicle from Nablus to his hometown
of Kafr Qaddum, and detained him.
In the meantime in
Ramallah district, forces stormed several villages to the north of the city,
where they proceeded to confiscate surveillance cameras from local shops and
homes.
Forces informed shop
and homeowners that their surveillance cameras would be seized for several days
with the purpose of finding pictures that would help detect Palestinians
suspected of opening gunfire late Monday on an Israeli vehicle near the illegal
settlement of Shvut Rachel to the south of Nablus.
