JERUSALEM,
June 29, 2015 (WAFA) – A Palestinian woman was detained Monday after Israeli
media allegedly said she stabbed a female Israeli soldier at a military
checkpoint in the city of Jerusalem.
Israeli
forces said that the young woman took out a knife and stabbed a female Israeli
soldier stationed at the 300 road checkpoint, also known as the Bilal Ibn Rabah
Mosque site or Rachel checkpoint that separates Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
The
soldier was stabbed in the neck and her condition was described as moderate to
serious. The suspect, in her twenties, was detained and is currently being
interrogated by Israeli intelligence.
The
soldier was taken to the Hadassah hospital in Ein Karem for treatment.
Other
local media sources reported on witnesses as saying that forces raided the
suspect’s home in the Beit Sahour locality of Ish Ghurab.
