JERUSALEM, June 28, 2015 (WAFA)
– At least seven Palestinians were arrested last night by Israeli authorities
in Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to local sources.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police
arrested 14-year-old Yazan Abu Yasin after raiding his house in the town of
Beit Hanina, north of the city. Police also arrested a 13-year-old in the Old
City neighborhood, but he was not identified.
Earlier, police arrested minors
Mustafa and Amir Debie in Shuafat refugee camp near Jerusalem. According to sources,
the two children were physically assaulted by the police before they were taken
to a nearby detention center.
Israeli police also arrested a
woman while she existing al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem.
The latest arrests came ahead
of confrontations which erupted across the city between Israeli police and
Palestinian teenagers. Police hurled teargas and toxic gas canisters towards
the protesters, after which at least three protesters were arrested by the
police.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers
attacked a Palestinian youngster in the city, bruising him extensively throughout
his body. The youngster, Ibrahim Alami, was transferred to hospital for medical
treatment.
Meanwhile in Hebron, Israeli
army stormed the town of Yatta and arrested Eissa Shawahin, 18, and Ghassan
Shawahin, 15, for reportedly throwing stones at Israeli army vehicles.
