RAMALLAH, June 28, 2015 (WAFA)
– The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Sunday issue on remarks
made by Jawad Boulos, legal counsel for the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC),
who said that hunger striking prisoner in Israeli jails Khader Adnan was on the
verge of death.
Boulos told AFP he had received
a call saying that the doctors at the Israeli hospital, where Khadar Adnan is
currently held, were on high alert due to the severe deterioration of Adnan’s
medical condition.
Al-Quds said the Israel Prison administration
declined to arrive at a compromise with Adnan to terminate his administrative detention.
In a different subject, al-Quds
said Israeli police quelled a protest organized by Palestinians outside
al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, which was held to protest an Israeli plan to settle Jewish newcomers in an
abandoned Christian site near the camp.
The three dailies, al-Quds,
al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted a female Israeli participant of Freedom
Flotilla III, bound for Gaza to break the Israeli siege, who said she was not
able to remain silent over Israeli eight-year blockade of Gaza.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said
President Mahmoud Abbas phoned his Tunisian and Kuwaiti counterparts and
condemned the terror attacks in the two countries last Friday.
The three dailies said an
earthquake struck Egypt on Saturday evening and was felt across the country, as
well as in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel and the Occupied Palestinian
Territories.
