WEST BANK, June 25, 2015 (WAFA)
– Israeli authorities Thursday arrested at least five Palestinians during
predawn raids across the West Bank, according to local and security sources.
Israeli army stormed Aida
refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, at midnight and arrested two local residents,
who were identified as Omar Badawteh, 20, and Ali Hammad, 21.
The army also stormed the town
of Shuyukh, east of Hebron, and arrested a local resident, who was identified as
Mohammad Halaika, after raiding and searching his house and sabotaging its
furniture.
The army also stormed al-Arroub
refugee camp near Hebron and arrested 18-year-old Abed Waleed Titi.
Meanwhile in Jerusalem, Israeli
police arrested a woman while she was entering al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The
woman, identified as Aya Abu-Nab, was led to a nearby police interrogation
center.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian
Prisoner’s Cub (PPC) said the Israeli authorities issued administrative
detention orders against 12 Palestinian political prisoners. The orders ranged
between two months and six months.
Under administrative
detention, prisoners are held without charge or trial and for indefinite and
renewable period of time.
According to the
Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, “Israel's use of administrative detention
blatantly violates the restrictions of international law. Israel carries it out
in a highly classified manner that denies detainees the possibility of mounting
a proper defense. Moreover, the detention has no upper time limit.”
