RAMALLAH, June 20, 2015 (WAFA) - The Higher Presidential Committee
of Churches affairs in Palestine Condemned the Israeli settlers’ ‘terrorist
attack’ against a Church in Tabgha in the Galilee.
The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish in
Galilee, was set
on fire at dawn on Thursday by Jewish extremists, which led to injuring two
people including a monk, and resulting in considerable damage to valuable
property.
The committee, in a statement, stressed that, “Israeli attacks on Christian
and Muslim holy sites have continued and increased under the watch of the new,
right-wing Israeli Government.”
“The culture of impunity that has been granted to Israel has
allowed Israeli extremists to escalate their racist attacks against
Palestinians and degrade our holy sites without any legal accountability,” said
the statement.
“The Presidential Committee calls upon the international community
to take series of actions to immediately stop the systematic attacks against
our holy sites,” concluded the statement.
