JERUSALEM, November 9, 2014 (WAFA) – At least 16 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli police during night and predawn raids in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank, while Israeli army handed summons to others to appear for interrogation, Sunday reported the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC).
WAFA
correspondent said an Israeli army force stormed the town of A-Ram, north of
Jerusalem, and arrested 14-year-old Rami Abu Asab.
Meanwhile, Israeli
police stormed the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, where they raided local houses,
storage facilities and shops and arrested Sufyan Gaith, 22. Earlier, police
arrested Hamza Jolani, 31, and Bilal Jolani, 20, in the same area.
Meanwhile in
the late night hours, police entered the nearby neighborhood of Shuafat and
arrested at least six Palestinian, including four minors. Two of the arrested were
identified as Fares Awadallah and Ahmad Yousef Abu Khdeir.
In Hebron,
army forces broke through the towns of Tarqumia and Beit Ummar, where they
arrested Zeyad Ga’afreh, who suffers from physiological problems, and
22-year-old Sohaib al-shobaki. Forces also handed summons to three others to
appear for interrogation before the Israeli intelligence.
In the
meantime, Israeli settlers attacked with stones a number of Palestinian
vehicles passing at Hebron-Idna road, causing damage to at least one car and
spreading fear among its passengers, among whom was a child.
Army further
set up checkpoints across Hebron governorate, ordering drivers to stop for
inspection and consequently causing a traffic jam.
In Nablus,
army forces stormed the village of Kafr Qalil, south of the city, and raided
the house of Nawwaf al-Amer, a journalist, before they arrested his son,
Ibrahim, and seized a sum of money, his cellular phone, and a camera belonging
to al-Amer. The forces searched the house and sabotaged its furniture.
Meanwhile,
army stormed the village of Batir, west of Bethlehem, and handed summons to
three teenagers to appear for interrogation at Gush Etzion military compound.
Army also
broke into the nearby villages of Um Salmuna and Beit Fajjar and handed two
Palestinians summons to appear for interrogation.
