NABLUS, May 2, 2025 (WAFA) — A 39-year-old Palestinian man, Omar Mustafa Abu Leil, was shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces on Friday morning following a raid and siege on his home at the entrance of Balata refugee camp, located east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs informed the Ministry of Health of Abu Leil's killing, confirming he was fatally shot and that Israeli occupation forces took away his body following the deadly incident.
According to local sources, Israeli special forces stormed the vicinity of the camp early in the morning and surrounded a house, before they were later reinforced by a convoy of military vehicles. The assault involved heavy gunfire and loud explosions.
Israeli troops prevented ambulance crews from reaching the home where Abu Leil was located and sealed off all entrances to the camp, restricting movement in and out.
Since Abu Leil's body was withheld and taken away by the Israeli occupation army, his family will not be able to bid him a final farewell look and give him a proper burial.
