JENIN, September 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces uprooted dozens of olive trees on Tuesday along the road connecting the towns of Arraba and Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin.

Local sources said that Israeli bulldozers, along with other supporting vehicles, uprooted and destroyed olive trees located on the edges of the road, which connects Arraba and Ya'bad and serves the surrounding agricultural areas. The operation was carried out under the protection and escort of the Israeli army.

The targeted trees included olive trees that had been planted for many years, as well as newly planted trees, threatening the livelihoods of a number of landowners and farmers in the area.

Farmers fear the uprooting could expand to additional agricultural areas, particularly amid ongoing settlement construction and expansion around Arraba.

The attack comes as part of continuing Israeli measures targeting agricultural land in Jenin governorate, including land leveling, tree uprooting, and restrictions on farmers' access to their lands.

Israeli authorities had issued notices to landowners in the area to uproot olive trees, including large, old trees and small trees, as part of measures that the occupation authorities claimed were related to "securing roads and protecting the movement of settlers."
