RAMALLAH, September 1, 2026 (WAFA) — The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said that Israel has seized approximately 109,141 dunams of Palestinian land during the tenure of the current Israeli government through a parallel set of military, administrative, and legal measures that have altered the status of the land, restricted its use, and removed it from Palestinian control.
According to the Commission’s detailed data, some 69,084 dunams were allocated through 10 decisions involving boundary adjustments and control over nature reserves, while 29,131 dunams were classified as “state land” through 22 procedures. A further 5,829 dunams were taken under 239 recorded seizure orders or documents, while 5,572 dunams were expropriated under 17 confiscation orders.
The data shows that land seizures peaked during the first two years of the current government’s tenure, with 50,525 dunams seized in 2023 and another 46,597 dunams in 2024, totaling 97,122 dunams, or approximately 89% of the overall figure.
After 5,572 dunams were seized in 2025, the pace increased again during the first eight months of 2026, when 6,447 dunams were seized—about 875 dunams more than the total recorded for the entire previous year.
Geographically, the measures affected all Palestinian governorates. The largest areas that could be directly attributed to specific governorates were recorded in Nablus, with approximately 24,749 dunams, followed by Jericho and the Jordan Valley with 12,709 dunams, Tubas with 6,085 dunams, and Jerusalem with 4,447 dunams. An additional 43,699 dunams extend across the governorates of Jericho and Jerusalem, while 5,229 dunams lie across Nablus and Ramallah.
The Commission said the scale and distribution of the measures point to a broader process of expanding Israeli control over Palestinian land, restricting Palestinian development, and creating new realities on the ground. It warned that these measures contribute to fragmenting the Palestinian territory into isolated areas and undermine the prospects for a geographically contiguous and viable Palestinian state.
