GAZA, May 2, 2025 (WAFA) — At least nine Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and several others injured in the early hours of Friday as Israeli warplanes bombed residential homes in central and northern Gaza, according to local sources and medical reports.
Two civilians were confirmed killed and others wounded when an Israeli airstrike targeted a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes struck an agricultural land west of Beit Lahiya, while surveillance drones, including quadcopters, hit multiple areas in the Al-Zaytoun and Turkman neighborhoods in Gaza City.
One of the deadliest attacks occurred in the central Gaza Strip, where an Israeli airstrike leveled the home of Khalil Abu Zeina in Al-Bureij refugee camp. The strike claimed the lives of seven people: Khalil Abu Zeina, his wife Na’ma, Ahmad Abu Zeina, Islam Dahbash, elderly woman Huda Fayed, and two others whose identities remain unknown.
Israeli artillery also shelled areas east of Al-Bureij and northern parts of Al-Nuseirat refugee camp.
In Khan Younis, an Israeli helicopter strike targeted an apartment in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, injuring three civilians, including a woman and an infant. Another woman and two children were injured in a separate airstrike on a house in the nearby town of Abasan al-Kabira. Meanwhile, another home was bombed on the outskirts of Al-Manara neighborhood in Khan Younis.
In Rafah, Israeli forces demolished several residential blocks in the Musabeh neighborhood, in a systematic effort to destroy infrastructure and displace civilians.
Earlier last night, multiple civilians were killed and others wounded after Israeli warplanes bombed the Abu Daqa family home in northern Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis.
According to medical sources, the total death toll in Gaza over the past 24 hours has risen to 38, including the nine killed since dawn today.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 52,418 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 118,091 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
