Newspaper Review: Cairo-based Gaza Reconstruction Conference Focus of Dailies

RAMALLAH, October 11, 2014 – (WAFA) – The Gaza reconstruction conference which is scheduled to be held in Cairo onSunday October 12 hit the front page headlines of the Palestinian dailies.

 

Here are the front page headlines of the dailies.

 

Al-Quds

 

-          The sum of $4 billion is requested for Gaza reconstruction.

-          ]Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Mohammad[ Mustafa: The Palestinian government will revise ]US Secretary of State John[ Kerry’s economic initiative.

-          Four Palestinians were shot and injured and dozens others suffocated during anti-wall and settlement West Bank weekly protests.

-          Some Palestinian immigrants detained in Malta are released.

-          Israel will not allow the establishment of the State of Palestine and will focus on conflict management in running its relations with the Palestinians.

-          Thousands of Palestinian worshipers under 50 years old are barred from access into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound as a result of stringent Israeli restrictions.

-          The European Union calls anew for the need to solve the conflict based on the two-state solution.

-          [Member of Hamas political bureau Mohammad] Nazzal: We will soon hold indirect negotiations with Israel over prisoners' issue.   

-          [Palestinian Premier Rami] Hamdallah together with his cabinet return back from Gaza to the West Bank in anticipation of travelling to Cairo.

-          The Arab Parliament condemns storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israel.

-          Hamdallah thanks [Hamas senior official Ismail] Haniyeh, affirms that all they have agreed upon will be implemented.
