Newspaper Review: Dailies Highlight “Khuza'a” Massacre

RAMALLAH, July 24, 2014 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Thursday issue on the Wednesday Israeli massacre in Khuza’a, to the east of Khan Yunes, where dozens were killed by intensive Israeli shellfire.

Al-Quds:

-[Israel perpetrates] massacre in Khuza’a and prevents access to the casualties.

-[Israeli army] kills youngster Mohammad Hamamreh [in Hebron] and expands the arrest campaign.

-[Hamas leader] Mashal: we will accept nothing but lifting the siege on Gaza … no breakthrough in ceasefire talks.

-Kerry: “we certainly have made steps forward [regarding a ceasefire]… There’s still work to be done.”

 

Al-Ayyam:

 

-81 [Palestinians] killed [in Gaza], including 31 in a new massacre in Khuza’a.

-The idea of a ‘humanitarian truce’ is gaining strong momentum.

-[Fatah official Azzam] al-Ahmad uncovers details on Palestinian ideas towards a ceasefire agreement.

-[Khaled] Mashal: we are ready for a ‘humanitarian truce’ that does not bypass [the Palestinian] demands.

-An army officer and two soldiers were killed in Khan Yunes battles.

-UN decides to launch immediate probe into Israeli offensive’s violations in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida:
