Five civilians killed, others injured in Israeli strikes on central and northern Gaza

GAZA, June 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Five civilians were killed and several others were injured, including two children, after Israeli warplanes targeted a home in the town of Az-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip.

The bodies of the victims arrived in pieces at Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Another airstrike targeted the Al-Saftawi area in northern Gaza City.

In a dangerous escalation, Israeli aircraft bombed a food distribution point in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, where hundreds of civilians had gathered in search of food. The attack resulted in multiple injuries among the crowd.

Medical sources reported that the number of civilians killed in Gaza since the early hours of Sunday has risen to 29, including six people who were waiting to receive humanitarian aid.

Earlier today, medical sources announced that the total death toll in Gaza has reached 55,959 civilians, mostly children and women, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.

The number of wounded has climbed to 131,242, with many victims still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings. Emergency and civil defense crews are unable to reach them due to ongoing airstrikes and the massive amount of debris.
