AMMAN, August 16, 2026 (WAFA) — Palestine’s under-19 national table tennis team won the bronze medal at the West Asia Team Championships, which concluded at the Sports Palace Hall in Al Hussein Youth City in Amman, Jordan.
The Palestinian team finished third in the men’s under-19 category, sharing the bronze medal with Jordan. Qatar won first place, while Saudi Arabia finished second.
The Palestinian delegation included players Mahdi Rammal, Qassem Al-Tarhuni, Mohammed Al-Maghribi, and Youssef Dofash, who delivered strong performances throughout the championship and helped secure another regional medal for Palestinian table tennis.
The achievement further strengthens the presence of Palestinian table tennis at Asian and regional competitions and reflects the progress of the national teams despite challenges and limited resources, amid strong competition throughout the tournament.
Ridwan Al-Sharif, acting president of the Palestinian Table Tennis Federation and head of the Palestinian delegation, congratulated the players, technical and administrative staff, and Palestinian refereeing team, praising their efforts throughout the championship. He said the achievement represents a new addition to the record of Palestinian table tennis and strengthens its presence on the Asian sporting scene.
