COPENHAGEN, May 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Activities of the sports initiative “Run for Palestine” continued for a second consecutive day on Saturday across several Danish cities.
The event was held in the cities of Aarhus and Esbjerg with the participation of hundreds of runners, in cooperation with the Federation of Palestinian Associations and in the presence of the Palestinian community forum.
Participants were welcomed at the city hall square following the race in an atmosphere marked by messages of support for freedom, justice, and the rights of the Palestinian people.
The event began on Thursday in the city of Aalborg with the lighting of the “Torch of Freedom,” which is scheduled to move to Odense before the activities conclude on Sunday in Copenhagen’s city hall square, alongside another event in the city of Sønderborg.
“Run for Palestine” is being organized for the third consecutive year, with proceeds dedicated to supporting humanitarian work in Palestine as well as human rights efforts through Amnesty International and ActionAid.
