CAIRO, March 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides emphasized the importance of fully implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The remarks came during a phone call today received by President el-Sisi from President Christodoulides on Saturday.
According to the Egyptian presidency spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed al-Shannawi, the two leaders stressed the need to allow unhindered humanitarian aid into Gaza and to accelerate early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The discussion also highlighted the role of Cyprus in supporting the process, particularly as it currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union Council.
