Saudi Arabia condemns US ambassador’s remarks on Israel taking over Middle East

RIYADH, February 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Saudi Arabia strongly condemned and fully denounced statements made by the United States ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, in which he said it would be okay if Israel over the entire Middle East.

In a statement issued on Saturday evening by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom affirmed its categorical rejection of the irresponsible remarks that constitute a violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and diplomatic norms. It said the statements set a dangerous precedent coming from a US official and showed disregard for the distinguished relations between countries of the region and the United States.

The Kingdom warned that such extremist rhetoric portends grave consequences and threatens international peace and security by provoking the states and peoples of the region and undermining the foundations of the international system established to put an end to devastating wars that claimed millions of lives, including respect for the geographical borders and sovereignty of states.

It called on the US Department of State to clarify its position regarding Huckabee’s remarks rejected by peace-loving nations around the world.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its firm stance rejecting any infringement on the sovereignty, borders, and territorial integrity of states, stressing that the only path to a just and comprehensive peace lies in ending the occupation on the basis of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
