Israeli forces uproot dozens of olive trees near Hebron

Hebron, February 17, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces uprooted dozens of olive trees along the bypass road in the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, on Tuesday, and issued notices to uproot thousands more trees along the apartheid wall.

Abdul Rahman Tmaizi, the public relations director for the Idhna municipality, said that the occupation forces uprooted olive trees and bulldozed large areas of land belonging to Mahmoud Afifi Tmaizi, a resident of the town, at the town's entrance adjacent to bypass road 35.

Tmaizi added that the occupation forces informed residents of their intention to uproot thousands of olive, almond, and other trees along an eight-kilometer stretch of the wall that surrounds the town from the west. He noted that this operation will confiscate what remains of the town's land and negatively impact the agricultural sector, which is the farmers' primary source of income.

He pointed out that the town of Idhna is facing an unprecedented colonial assault, especially as the occupation continues to close its main northern entrance, confiscates areas of land in the region, establishes a settlement outpost on the eastern side of the town, seizes hundreds of dunams of citizens' land, and, according to its latest notification, decides to confiscate the remaining lands of the town on the western side.
