RAMALLAH, August 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian sisters were injured on Saturday after being attacked by Israeli colonists while picking figs from their land in the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah.
Local sources told WAFA that colonists brutally attacked the sisters, Mona and Alia Mahmoud Hamed, aged 75 and 65, before stealing their mobile phones and the keys to their vehicle. The two women sustained bruises and other injuries in the attack.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and their properties in July. Israeli forces were responsible for 1,458 attacks, while colonists carried out 798.
The commission affirmed that the attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 260 attacks, Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185, and Hebron with 170.
It also said the figures demonstrate the close coordination between military force and colonist violence, with Israeli forces providing protection and support that enables colonists to escalate attacks and establish lasting facts on the ground.
