JORDAN VALLEY, February 13, 2026 (WAFA) — Seven Palestinian families in the Al-Miyteh community of the northern Jordan Valley, northeast of the occupied West Bank, began dismantling their homes on Friday in preparation to leave the area, local sources reported.
The head of the Al-Maleh Village Council, Mahdi Daraghmeh, said the families decided to leave after a recent surge in colonist attacks against them. Colonists had burned unoccupied tents in the same community overnight, which belonged to families previously forced to leave for similar reasons.
Bedouin communities in the northern Jordan Valley have been facing daily and escalating colonist attacks, including assaults on homes, physical attacks and intimidation of residents, as well as targeting shepherds by preventing access to pastures and attacking them and their livestock.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out a total of 1,872 incidents in January. Israeli forces were responsible for 1,404 incidents, while colonists carried out 468.
The attacks were concentrated mainly in Hebron governorate with 415 incidents, followed by Ramallah and al-Bireh with 374, Nablus with 328, and Jerusalem with 201.
