JERUSALEM, February 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday evening detained two Palestinians from the occupied West Bank governorate of Jerusalem, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
Citing Mohammad Mahmoud, an attorney representing the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, it said that the occupation forces rounded up two young men at the King Hussein border crossing while on their way to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
It added that the occupation forces severely beat up a young man from the Silwan neighborhood after detaining him, requiring his hospitalization.
The man was intercepted and assaulted by the occupation soldiers while on route to his house in the al-Bustan neighborhood. He sustained bruises and wounds as a result.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces rounded up two Palestinians from Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
According to Osama Makhamra, a media activist, Israeli colonists assaulted Palestinian herders in Wadi Abu Shabban area, opening fire at them, but without resulting in any injury.
He added that gun-toting soldiers stormed the area to defend the assailants and unleashed a barrage of tear gas canisters towards Palestinian herders before assaulting and detaining two of them.
Earlier, the occupying forces detained 27 Palestinians in multiple predominantly pre-dawn raids across the occupied West Bank.
In the Hebron district, the occupation forces detained a 65-year-old man from al-Burj village for preventing colonists from grazing their sheep on his own land.
They also showed up at a house at Khirbet Imneizel in Masafer Yatta and detained an occupant.
In the Tulkarm district, the sources confirmed a raid in the Bal'a town, resulting in the detention of a man.
Two Palestinians were also detained from al-Marah, one of the neighborhoods of Jenin city.
In the Nablus district, the occupation forces carried out multiple raids and ransacked many houses, wreaking havoc inside and leading to the detention of 22 Palestinians, including Mohammad Radwan Abu Thabet, a journalist, Raja Oweis, a Fatah official,
As part of the 22 detainees, two were identified as residents of Nablus city, three others identified as residents of Beit Dajan village, another as a resident of Deir al-Hatab village, six others as residents of al-Lubban ash-Sharqiyya village, seven others as residents of Qusra town, and three others as residents of Huwara town.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping, arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,300 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 350 child prisoners and 56 female prisoners.
This number includes approximately 3,358 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
