HEBRON, February 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians on Friday evening suffocated amid heavy tear gas firing by Israeli forces in Sa'ir and Beit Ummar towns, northeast and northwest of Hebron, according to a media activist.
Mohammad Awad said that a convoy of Israeli army vehicles stormed the town, where the soldiers fired volleys of tear gas canisters, causing several inhabitants to suffocate.
The soldiers obliged storeowners to close their stores and beat up a young man in the course of the raid.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces barged their way into Sa'ir, and unleashed barrages of live ammunition and tear gas canisters, causing two inhabitants to suffocate.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in line with its broad and arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
