JERUSALEM, February 4, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday summoned the Sharia Judge of Jerusalem Sheikh Iyad al-Abbasi and several other Palestinian citizens for interrogation, while simultaneously issuing orders banning several individuals from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, occupation authorities summoned Sheikh al-Abbasi, along with former prisoner Jamil al-Abbasi and a young man, Nihad al-Abbasi—all residents of the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It added that they were ordered to appear for interrogation tomorrow, Thursday, at an occupation detention center in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
In a related development, the Governorate reported that occupation authorities served former prisoner Mufid al-Abbasi, also from Silwan, an order banning him from the Al-Aqsa Mosque for a renewable period of one week.
Furthermore, the occupation authorities issued a decision banning Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Hamza Khalaf from entering the holy site for a period of six months.
In addition, the detention of two other Al-Aqsa Mosque guards, Mahdi al-Abbasi and Abdul Rahman al-Sharif, was extended until tomorrow, Thursday. Both men were arrested yesterday following raids on their homes by occupation forces.
In a separate instance, occupation authorities released Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Fadi Aliyan from the town of Issawiya, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. His release was made conditional on a one-week renewable ban from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, following his arrest from his home earlier this afternoon.
