US: activists launch campaign urging Congress to halt arm sales to Israel

WASHINGTON, February 4, 2026 (WAFA) – Activists and human rights organizations in the United States have launched a broad popular campaign to pressure Congress to stop sending weapons to Israel.

This campaign comes after Congress approved a new $6.6 billion arms deal with Israel, sparking widespread anger and criticism among segments of the American public who believe that taxpayer money is being used to support military operations instead of being directed towards domestic needs.

The campaign, known as "Block the Bomb," is leading grassroots and media efforts to encourage citizens to contact their elected representatives and demand the use of constitutional powers to prevent the implementation of the arms deals. The goal is to push Congress to halt or freeze military aid and link any future assistance to respect for international law and human rights.
