QALQILYA, February 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists attacked a home today on the eastern outskirts of the village of Farata, located east of Qalqilya city in the northern West Bank, according to the homeowner.
Hijazi Yamin told WAFA that a group of Israeli colonists from the nearby Havat Gilad colony pelted his house with stones and prevented his family of seven from leaving or moving inside the property, claiming they were herding sheep in the area.
Yamin said the colonists released a dog toward his family when they attempted to confront them and force them away, causing fear and panic, particularly among the children.
He described a growing sense of insecurity, explaining that he now fears leaving his wife and children alone or allowing them to go to school or run daily errands, as they have become increasingly exposed to danger due to repeated attacks.
According to Yamin, the incident was the second assault within a week. He said Israeli colonists attacked him several days earlier, stole agricultural equipment belonging to him, and vandalized water networks during nighttime hours before fleeing the area.
Yamin added that these attacks are part of ongoing pressure aimed at forcing him to leave his home under the pretext of its proximity to the colony. He called on relevant bodies to urgently intervene to protect him and his family and to put an end to practices that threaten their safety and security.
Farata village lies east of Qalqilya and is surrounded by the villages of Immatin, Baqat al-Hatab, Hajjah, Al-Funduq and Jit. Residents access the village through its sole main entrance via Immatin. The village's eastern area faces heightened risk due to its proximity to the Havat Gilad colony, leaving residents under persistent threat.
