PM Mustafa discusses latest developments and coordination with Saudi Foreign Minister in Davos

DAVOS, January 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday to discuss the latest political developments and ways to coordinate joint positions.

The meeting was attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Ibrahim Khraishi. Mustafa briefed the Saudi Foreign Minister on the current situation and recent developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He stressed the importance of intensifying international pressure to open Gaza's crossings, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and provide the requirements for reconstruction.

Mustafa also called for facilitating the work of the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), warning of the serious consequences of continued Israeli obstacles to its work and the negative impact on relief and reconstruction efforts.

The Prime Minister addressed the severe financial challenges facing the Palestinian government due to Israel's continued withholding of the former's clearance revenues for nearly eight months, which has deepened the economic crisis and threatens the government's ability to meet its obligations to the Palestinian people. He emphasized the need for international pressure to secure the release of these funds.

Mustafa praised Saudi Arabia's supportive positions toward the Palestinian people and expressed his appreciation for the kingdom's political and humanitarian efforts that contribute to strengthening their resilience.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's continued efforts to support common causes and the Palestinian people's right to freedom, independence, and the achievement of their legitimate rights.
