RAMALLAH, January 13, 2026 (WAFA) | —Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa discussed with Christian Berger, Director of the Crisis Response Centre at the European External Action Service, the latest developments and field situation in Palestine, efforts to advance a serious political track to swiftly implement the international will to realize the State of Palestine, and the urgent needs of our people amid the severe conditions and the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting, attended by the European Union Representative in Palestine, Alexandre Stutzmann, and Deputy EU Representative James Rizzo, also addressed the continued attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The meeting was
Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the need to implement United Nations Security Council resolutions on Palestine, to consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, ensure the entry of humanitarian assistance in a manner that meets all urgent needs and humanitarian requirements of our people in Gaza, advance recovery and reconstruction efforts, and unify the Gaza Strip and the West Bank under authority of the State of Palestine.
Mustafa also emphasized the necessity of exerting pressure to halt all occupation measures in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, secure the release of withheld Palestinian tax revenues, and end all illegal deductions.
For his part, Berger affirmed the European Union’s support for efforts to preserve the two-State solution, as well as its support for the Palestinian Government’s efforts to unify the West Bank and Gaza, ensure the unity of institutions, and uphold their internationally recognized legal reference.
