GENEVA, December 31, 2025 (WAFA) — The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs said the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached “catastrophic levels,” warning that harsh winter conditions are further worsening the crisis.

In a statement, the ministry said Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis supports the joint statement issued by the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary calling on Israeli authorities to ensure unhindered access for humanitarian aid to Gaza, lift restrictions on reusable goods, and open crossings to enable large-scale delivery of assistance.

The joint statement was issued on Tuesday by the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.

The statement expressed deep concern over the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and urged the Israeli government to lift restrictions hindering the entry of humanitarian aid.
