Palestinian and Slovak journalists unions sign cooperation memorandum

BRATISLAVA, December 11, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate signed a joint cooperation memorandum with the Slovak Journalists Union during a meeting held at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Slovakia, in the presence of journalists and media professionals interested in Palestinian affairs. 

The agreement aims to strengthen media communication and exchange expertise between the two sides.

Palestinian Ambassador to Slovakia, Safa Khaldi, provided an extensive briefing on the situation of journalists in Palestine, highlighting their human stories, daily challenges, and the risks they face while covering events, emphasizing the dangers Palestinian journalists encounter to convey the truth to the world.

Palestinian Journalists Syndicate head Nasser Abu Bakr spoke about the sacrifices made by journalists, noting that several journalists have been killed in the line of duty and dozens more injured, reflecting the risks and violations they face during fieldwork.

Representatives of the Slovak Journalists Union expressed solidarity with the Palestinian press and their readiness to implement joint training programs and cooperative initiatives.

The memorandum is part of the embassy's efforts to enhance media cooperation between Palestine and Slovakia, supporting Palestinian media work and promoting accurate reporting on the international stage.
