NEW YORK, December 11, 2025 (WAFA) – Palestine’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, met today with President of the UN General Assembly Annalena Baerbock to discuss matters related to Palestine as the 80th session of the Assembly approaches its conclusion.
During the meeting, Mansour expressed his appreciation for Baerbock’s leadership in convening the Two-State Solution Summit held on September 22, and for the adoption of the New York Declaration, as well as for the Assembly’s adoption of several resolutions in support of Palestine.
These resolutions included the renewal of UNRWA’s mandate for an additional three years, reaffirmation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and resolutions underscoring the illegality of colonial settlement activities, among other Palestine-related decisions.
Mansour also thanked Baerbock for her role in advancing UN resolutions calling for an end to Israel’s aggression against Gaza and the occupied West Bank, stressing the need for a permanent and lasting ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts.
Baerbock praised the role of the Palestinian delegation and its support for her work as President of the General Assembly. Both sides agreed to maintain ongoing communication and coordination throughout the remainder of her term in this key leadership position.
