GAZA, November 10, 2025 (WAFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that more than 16,000 patients in the Gaza Strip are still awaiting evacuation for medical treatment abroad.
The organization called for ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid through all crossings into the Gaza Strip, given the critically deteriorating health and humanitarian situation.
In an urgent statement issued Monday, the WHO stressed the need for more countries to accept patients and the injured from Gaza for treatment, emphasizing that the health system in Gaza is facing complete collapse as a result of the ongoing blockade and shortages of medical supplies and fuel.
The organization added that thousands of wounded individuals require urgent surgeries that cannot be performed within the Gaza Strip, noting that facilitating their transfer to hospitals outside Gaza has become a pressing humanitarian issue.
The WHO indicated that its medical supplies are ready at the border and called for the immediate reopening of all crossings.
