RAMALLAH, September 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli bulldozers on Sunday began building a new colonial road near the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, while continuing the construction of another road west of the city, local sources reported.
In Deir Jarir, bulldozers started clearing land to construct a road near the towns of Deir Jarir and Silwad, aiming to link the Israeli settlement of Ofra with the main road in the region.
Meanwhile, west of Ramallah, construction continued on an Israeli colonial road between the towns of Beit Ur al-Fawqa and Deir Ibzi‘. Ali Faisal, head of Beit Ur al-Fawqa municipality, told WAFA that the new road serves the colonial settlement of Beit Horon.
Local sources said the road cuts off the main access connecting eight Palestinian towns: Beit Sira, Beit Nuba, Beit Liqya, Kharbatha al-Misbah, Saffa, al-Tira, Beit Ur al-Fawqa, and Beit Ur al-Tahta.
Upon completion, the town of Beit Ur al-Fawqa will be surrounded on all sides by the settlement of Beit Horon to the east, Highway 443 to the south, and a military checkpoint to the west and north.
