JERUSALEM, January 20, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities issued on Monday notices including orders of halting the construction and demolition of a number of facilities and buildings in the towns of Silwan, Issawiya, and Bir al-Maskoub community east of Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces notified the halt of construction of two facilities in the Bedouin community of Bir al-Maskoub east of occupied Jerusalem, while notifying the demolition of a number of facilities and buildings in the towns of Issawiya and Silwan, and notifying the removal of iron roofs from a number of commercial facilities in the two towns.
The report of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission monitored that the occupation authorities carried out a total of 684 demolition operations during 2024, during which they demolished 903 facilities in the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem, as the demolition operations were concentrated in the Jerusalem governorates with 190 demolition operations, then the Hebron governorate with 172 demolition operations, and the Bethlehem governorate with 68 demolition operations.
