JORDAN VALLEY, January 14, 2024 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces issued on Tuesday orders to halt construction on dozens of residential and agricultural structures belonging to Palestinian residents in the Ras Al-Ahmar area in the Northern Jordan Valley, according to a local official.
Mutaz Bsharat, an official in charge of monitoring Israeli colonial activities in the Jordan Valley, said Israeli forces targeted 16 residential and agricultural structures belonging to five families in Ras Al-Ahmar, citing unpermitted construction as a pretext.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, colonists carried out more than 2,971 violations against Palestinian citizens and their properties in 2024, resulting in the killing of 10 Palestinians.
During the same period, the occupation authorities issued 903 demolition orders against Palestinian structures under the pretext of lacking Israeli-issued permits. These included 180 notices in the Hebron governorate, 140 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley and 126 in Bethlehem.
