Hundreds of Palestinians forced to flee Shuja'iyya neighborhood amid Israeli threats

GAZA, November 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Hundreds of Palestinians in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, located in the eastern part of Gaza City, were forced to flee their homes yesterday, following new evacuation orders and threats of aerial bombardment by the Israeli occupation army.

According to local sources, dozens of families fled on foot, carrying only their belongings and blankets, as they made their way to areas in the southern and central parts of Gaza City. The evacuation was sparked by warnings from Israeli occupation authorities of imminent attacks on the area.

With limited access to transportation due to a severe fuel shortage and the destruction of thousands of civilian vehicles by Israeli forces during ground incursions, many residents had no choice but to walk long distances.

Since the beginning of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, the region's population have endured ongoing displacement, with residents repeatedly being ordered to vacate their homes in preparation for airstrikes or ground operations.

UN reports confirm that Gaza has no place considered safe, as Israeli bombardments have targeted all parts of the Strip, including areas that were previously deemed "safe" or "humanitarian."

Despite repeated displacements, the people of Gaza have found little to no refuge, even in shelters run by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
