BETHLEHEM, November 23, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening sealed off the main street of the Husan village, west of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to a local official.
Rami Hamamreh, head of Husan Village Council, said that the occupation forces closed the main street that passes in the ash-Sharfa, al-Mutina and al-Mashahen neighborhoods, denying the villagers access into and out of these neighborhoods.
In the course of the raid, the gun-toting soldiers fired volleys of tear gas canisters and concussion grenades, without any casualty.
The occupation forces have recently stepped up their assaults and arbitrary measures against the village, sealing off the al-Mutina and forcing the villagers to close their stores.
Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions.
Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.
