Renewed Israeli airstrikes target Beirut and southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, November 22, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued their air and artillery strikes across Lebanon, with airstrikes and shelling targeting various areas of the country, including the capital Beirut, causing widespread destruction to buildings, infrastructure, and civilian homes.

The southern district of Beirut, known as the Dahiyeh, was once again hit by Israeli strikes, with heavy bombardment reported in the areas of Shiyah, Tayouneh, Al-Kafa'at, Haret Hreik, Hadath, and Ghobeiri. These areas have borne the brunt of the attacks, which have severely damaged residential neighborhoods and local infrastructure.

In addition to the capital's Dahiyeh district, Israeli air and artillery strikes targeted multiple towns and villages in southern Lebanon. The city of Tyre, along with the towns of Ghazieh, Al-Burj Al-Shamali, Al-Maashouq, Maarakeh, Choukin, Ain Qana, Mayfoudoun, Nakoura, and others in the south, came under heavy bombardment.

Several border towns near the Israeli frontier, including Kfar Kila, Shihine, Jibeen, Al-Qatarani, Khiyam, Alma al-Shaab, Ain Alma, and Arnoun, and others in the South, also reported intense shelling, creating new waves of destruction across a region already heavily affected by the ongoing Israeli aggression.
