RAMALLAH, November 19, 2024 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Olympic Committee condemned the demolition of the "Goal Plus" sports academy by Israeli authorities west of Jerusalem, slamming it as part of the occupation’s ongoing violations against Palestinian sports.
The Committee said the demolished academy featured a grass football field, a gym for individual sports and a park for visitors and members. It was intended to serve a diverse group of people from Jerusalem and nearby areas, offering facilities for various age groups to engage in sports activities.
The Committee decried the demolition of the academy as part of Israel's ongoing violations against Palestinian sports. Since October 7, 2023, 83 sports facilities have been destroyed across Gaza and the West Bank, including 64 in Gaza and 19 in the West Bank.
