Israeli colonists set up colonial outpost north of Jericho

JERICHO, November 14, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Thursday evening set up a new colonial outpost near the Ras al-‘Ayn community, located close to al-Auja Spring, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, according to a local activist.

Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, said that Israeli colonists erected a new colonist outpost adjacent to al-Auja Spring, pitching a tent close to the community, installing a water tank and laying the groundwork for the construction of the new outpost.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
