BEIRUT, November 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli airstrikes on several towns in southern and eastern Lebanon on Saturday evening have left at least 27 people killed and many more injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
The Ministry reported that five people were killed in an airstrike on the town of Hanaouiyeh, in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon. In the Baalbek-Hermel region of eastern Lebanon, ten people were brutally massacred in an Israeli raid on the village of Al-Kanisa, while six people were killed in the town of Hadath in the Baalbek district.
In the southern district of Tyre, further Israeli airstrikes hit the towns of Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain, and Ain Baal, leaving six people killed and five others wounded, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
Saturday's death toll follows another heavy round of Israeli bombardment on Friday, which claimed the lives of 19 people and left 91 injured across various areas of Lebanon.
The escalating Israeli aggression has raised the total number of fatalities since the beginning of the Israeli assault on Lebanon October 8, 2023, to 3,136, with 13,979 others reported wounded, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
