HEBRON, OCTOBER 28, 2024 (WAFA) - Colonists Monday evening stormed the archaeological site of Tel Ma'in in the town of Karmil south of Hebron, according to local sources.
Sources said that colonists from nearby colonies established on Palestinian lands east of Yatta broke into the site, performing Talmudic rituals and photographing the area's historical landmarks, including an ancient olive press and a Roman palace.
In a related incident, an armed colonist broke into the village of Umm al-Khair in the Masafer Yatta area under the protection of Israeli forces, spreading panic and fear among residents, particularly children and women.
Since the onset of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7, 2023, colonists’ attacks against Palestinians and their properties have increased significantly. The indiscriminate attacks, which include the destruction of homes and properties, have drawn widespread condemnation from various international bodies and human rights organizations.
In response to the escalating violence, several countries have imposed sanctions targeting Israeli colonists accused of perpetrating acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
