GAZA, October 27, 2024 (WAFA) — At least ten civilians were killed and several others injured last night following an Israeli airstrike on a home sheltering displaced families in the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.

Local sources reported that the strike targeted the Ghabayen family home, which was housing members of the displaced Kahlout family, resulting in additional casualties and several individuals reported missing.

Earlier in the night, another Israeli airstrike hit the Salah al-Din school in western Gaza City that also served as a shelter for displaced persons, leading to the murder of one individual and injuring others.

Furthermore, Israeli artillery and air forces launched attacks on various sites in Rafah, southern Gaza, while ground troops fired flares and projectiles towards the northern areas near the al-Bureij and al-Nuseirat refugee camps.

This escalation follows a series of Israeli strikes that have resulted in over 35 fatalities, including women and children, in a residential block near the western roundabout in Beit Lahiya. The strikes targeted at least five homes belonging to the Abu Shadak, Masri, and Salman families.

Since October 5, Israeli forces have intensified their ground invasion and air bombardments across northern Gaza, aiming to forcibly displace the local population amid ongoing military assaults.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 42,847 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 100,544 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
