Palestinian youth sustains injury by Israeli army bomb near Nablus

NABLUS, October 8, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth Tuesday evening sustained an injury by an Israeli army bomb in the Sabastiya town, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a municipal source.

The Mayor of Sabastiya, Mohammad Azzem, said that Israeli forces raided the town, triggering confrontations, which saw the soldiers firing opening gunfire, tear gas canisters and concussion grenades.

One of the concussion grenades fired by the occupation soldiers hit a young man, injuring him in the hand. The casualty was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without a search warrant whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
