Israeli shelling of southern Gaza and sites near Rafah crossing kills eight civilians

GAZA, September 9, 2024 (WAFA) - Eight civilians were killed and others were injured on Monday evening in an Israeli bombing on the southern part of Gaza City, near the Rafah crossing.

According to local sources, five civilians were killed and others were injured in an Israeli air raid targeting a residential apartment belonging to the Abu Bakr family in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood south of Gaza City.

Three civilians were also killed after the occupation shelled a group of civilians near the Rafah land crossing south of the Strip.

The ongoing occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in the killing of 40,988 civilians, mostly children and women, and the injury of 94,825 others.

Thousands of victims remain missing; either buried under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as rescue teams face tremendous difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks and the massive amount of debris.
